Lauren Filip, MS, LPC, NCC, CAADC

Hi, I’m Lauren—a mental health therapist, wife, mom of two, and health-conscious(ish) foodie and baker who enjoys unwinding with reality TV or a late-night movie.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Toledo, followed by my Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. My career began in drug and alcohol treatment, where I developed a strong clinical foundation before transitioning into roles in behavioral health management.

I work with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or not quite like themselves. You might be second-guessing yourself, feeling disconnected in your relationships, or unsure of where things are headed. Often, people feel drained, caught in their own thoughts, or just “off,” and are looking to feel more confident and clear.

Many people come in feeling unheard or misunderstood and may be struggling with intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, chronic stress, postpartum and parenting shifts, emotional numbness, or past trauma—along with other messy, complicated parts of life that are hard to put into words but still feel heavy.

I see therapy as an essential part of overall health—just like taking care of your body or going to the doctor for a check-up. My approach is person-centered, collaborative and tailored to you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and the relationship between them, while building practical tools you can use in your everyday life.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. Together we’ll make sense of what’s been weighing on you, build awareness of what’s going on internally and begin shifting patterns and perspectives in a way that feels manageable and meaningful. You don’t have to come in with all the answers. I’ll help guide the process with honesty, empathy, and real conversation.

Wherever you are right now, we can begin there. When you’re ready, I’d be glad to connect.
